What can I say that hasn't been said 1,000 times.

Dale forever missed.

I haven't stopped watching completely, but I definitely became a "casual" fan, not at all hardcore anymore. There are other reasons for this too, but the day Dale died definitely started me down this course.

Default Same sentiments here

Im a 48 year old NASCAR fan who was lucky enough to meet him in the garage area at Poccono, Held one side of his championship trophy in the waldorf lobby (the guy carrying it would not let go of it) and I lived in Daytona for almost 4 years.

Two favorite memories; He made a diving pass at Bristol between two cars that were staggered but closing on each other. After the race they showed him how close it was and it suprised him. Another time, he had a reporter with him on his property and he was driving his truck out through a gate that he set to close. He flew through it scraping both mirrors.

10 years later, to the day, that Micheal Waltrip won his first Spint Cup race - the Daytona 500 that Dale Earnhardt died racing - Micheal Waltrip collects his first Camping World Truck Series victory at Daytona in a Dale Earnhardt tribute car (truck).

It was a very emotional victory lane - just happened...

I did watch it to the bitter end. And for me it was the beginning of the end of NASCAR for me. I hate NASCAR now because all of the good drivers from Winston cup are retiring and I just think it's totally ridiculous now and I will never watch it again. I'm into road racing - Grand Am series.

Yeah I saw that he won...pisses me off that a Tundra won in his memory. I'm gonna be throwing my remote at the TV and then go for an "intense" drive if a damn Camry wins on "my" race on Sunday...I've been telling my mom for well over a year now to not plan on me going anywhere on the 2011 Daytona race if I'm not able to go anywhere bcuz I'm gonna be sitting in front of that TV all day watching it. I would love Kevin Harvick to win for several reasons.

I felt that too. I didn't know who I wanted to win at the end cuz Elliot Sadler was out front in a Chevy. I never cheered a Toyota to victory. But it was still a feel good story if you leave that part out
