my experence with 'em, not so great. but mine was a "cheap" model made by shelter logic, that i got secondhand from my uncle. it was already 2 years old when i got it and it lasted me almost a year, and it was great for keeping the monte out of the weather. unfortinitly it was not rated for snow, and even though i added some extra supports we got about 4" of super wet heavy snow while i was in school and it was too much.

i had told my dad to park his '57 in it for the winter so it would be out of the elements (also the zipper would freeze up and i didin't want my car stuck in it all winter). lucally the only damage was a big scrape on the cowl panel, which was kinda OK because the car needs paint anyway. but damage is damage, and that car didin't need any more issues!

I would love something like that!

Unfortunately,
The city doesn't allow it..

Hi Ryan,
Thanks for your post & pic's + the story about your experience with a used shelter that wasn't designed for heavy snows, etc...

If I had a nice ride & didn't have a garage, I would try to get the best tent/portable garage that I could afford...

Oh, does your dad still have the Chevy How many rides do you both have now ? You've found some nice ones 4-Sure...

Hi Mod `David,
I find it sad that a city can prevent you from having a portable garage or car port.. I can understand regulations for control to make sure that people comply & don't build eye sores to the neighborhood.

That's why I think I love living on a boat (if you don't like your neighbor's, you just pull anchor & sail or motor away....LOL.

`David, you should run for city Mayor or City Ordinance Chief Why `Not, everyone here would vote 4 U

lol yep space dad's still got his '57, he made alot of progress on it scince that pic but recently started working on his '47 desoto that he got last october.

personally after having a portable garage i would rather invest in one of these. spend a little more up front but have something sturdy that's gonna last

Hi`Ryan,
Thanks for your post & link 2 above that's a decent price 4 a 2 door garage with a side door. I wonder `if it would sustain a hurricane

Also, I'd love to see pictures of your Dad's Chevy, Desoto + your project Buick It your new assignment from the MCF, `if you choose to accept this mission, we expect to see some updated pictures in the near future Thank You for accepting LOL

Aww man! You mean I didn't have to get myself into a 25 year mortgage just so the Monte could park in a garage? I could've bought one of these instead.

Hello `Lou & I'm really sorry , I just thought if you had one of the above portable garages in your old neighborhood that they would've stole your garage with your Monte in it I am happy that you found a Super Super Home with a Auto Bedroom for your S.S.

Hi `Lisa, I hope you can find one that works for you 4-Sure...Your Monte is to nice to sit outside in the bad elements of winter or just the sun/rain/bird-tree dropping etc...Good Luck !
