Pontiac, maker of muscle cars, ends after 84 years
WELL! If you like the Fiero, then you gotta LOVE the Mera:

EDIT: (Sorry about this pic, it got changed somehow. I need to find another.)
I talked with the owner (Dan) of this '87 Pontiac Mera yesterday afternoon for almost an hour! I was driving the '82 Olds 98 Regency 2 dr coupe, so we were admiring each others classic Michigan Iron. His Mera was made south of Flint, and I believe the Olds came out of Lansing maybe (Cadillac line).
And then you guys talk about the classic Pontiac cars, and EVERYONE forgets about the still in production hot rod roadsters, the Solstice and the turbocharged Solstice GXP, which my wife drives daily. With a few basic mod's and a tune (not dyno tuned), she puts out about 350 HP from a 2.0L!!! AND that's STILL mild!! Matt at ZZPerformance laid down 500+WHP on their dyno with a Cobalt SS, FWD, same engine. I know several people that are over 400HP !!! AND the coupe only had a few hundred made before GM pulled the plug on Pontiac.
Here's my wife's Solstice GXP, "Lucy":
