My opinion on what they should have done was eliminate both GMC and Buick. Take your lower price luxury Buicks and make em Caddy. Lower the prices of Chevy trucks since they were the same thing essentially as the GMCs. Keep Pontiac as the sportier division. Hummer tanked on its own so good there. Three brands, each with a purpose. One luxury, one mainstream and trucks, and finally sport.

Agreed, GMC is definitely not needed. Even when I was a little kid, I wondered why they sold Chevy and GMC. They were virtually identical, except for the grille. The car divisions, although some more similar than others, looked more different from each other than did the Chevy/GMC trucks.

I for one am very sad to see them go... I inherited a 1970 GTO "Judge" from my father in 1980... It was stock 366 hp... By the time I sold it in 1987 it was boasting 375hp (a few modifications) at the rear wheels... I still remember opening the hood and seeing that 400ci blue block with all sorts of factory chrome on it and being able to see past that beast to the ashphalt below it, what happenned to our newer cars?... Now a days a 4 cylinder engine fills the whole engine compatrment... Three cheers for Pontiac may it rest in peace...

They should have kept Pontiac and moved Buick to Japan.
Heyyy - my dad drives a Buick (2008 Lucerne)! Oh wait - he's old too heeheehee J/K

They are bringing back the Regal Turbo - never gonna be as fun as the 80's T-Type though.

I totally lost faith in Pontiac in 2004 when they stopped making the Grand Prix coupe - hence my next ride was my 2003 Chevy Monte Carlo SS COUPE!

I will definitely miss the great Pontiac vehicles of the past. The Grand Prix, GTO, G8, Firebird Trans Am...
Just to name a few.
