Default plain stupidity

I was surfing the web and came across this post on a chevy forum:
http://chevroletforum.com/m_24896/tm.htm

Sometimes the stupidity of some people amazes me. I think that if you drive a car, you should have to have at least a basic understanding of how it works. Maybe it should be part of your driving test, a basic mechanically based test. I have talked to a few people from my school that dont know squat about cars. One didnt even know what a transmission was and one couldnt name the model of her car if her life depended on it. It was a small blue one in her mind. Probably 80% of the people that go to my school have never and will never even open the hood of their car and at least look. Then I am the one that gets weird looks when I demonstrate even a minimal knowledge of cars. Lol. I think maybe if you are looking to open a mechanics shop, you should come to my area and settle down, cause you will have alot of rich people needing you to maintain their cars for them.

Reasons like this make it a good thing when we have forums such as MCFs.

So people can ask stupid questions and get a non-stupid answer.

To me, the ONLY stupid question is the one not asked.

I was fixing a burned-out headlight for my neighbors son. They think he's a genius. He wanted to try and do the Headlight by himself. Easy enough; his car was an older model with rectangular sealed beams and they gave him the right one at the AutoZone. OK. Go ahead. Take-off the chrome surround ... unplug the beam and plug the new one in.

"Just go-in to the top-right drawer of my toolbox and get a Phillips Screwdriver" I told him to get him started-off on the right foot.

I was lost in thought, not paying any attention except to the Clutch Cable I was putting into an old Yamaha Motorcycle.
Fifteen minutes later he interrupts my work adjusting the Clutch with this gem.

"Rick, there's no Phillips Screwdrivers. All the ones you have in that drawer are labeled 'Craftsman'"!!! (LOL)
