Ehh id leave the grille thats in in, i nvr cared for those hideaways, the fixed lights looks way better

Congrats Mike! That will be a great Father/Son project. Is that the original 350 they dropped an HEI into or did they do an engine swap?

I believe it was engine swapped. But I am not 100% on it.

Bummer...I realize this is a project vehicle, but unless you received the original protecto-plate with the car it will be almost impossible to tell if it's a genuine SS or a clone. Even so, it's a great vehicle. Makes me wish I still had my '69 Z...

I hope you are putting it back to stock looking - 1st mod - get rid of that steering wheel & put an original looking one back in. Oh and I hope you are going to take that 69 spoiler off and getting the proper shorter spoiler that came on some of the 68s back on.
