Looks like a nice car! Provided the body is as good as it looks on the outside I'd say go for it.

My dad actually bought his last ranger from that dealership.

Nice car but I wouldn't want it for a daily driver. Looks like a pretty nice car. I dont think the stripes look messed up and the interior looks like there is not too much wear. If the deal lines up I say do it.

Fine tooth comb for rust, rear frame rails behind the rearend, floor pans, trunk where it dips down behind the wheels, rockers, botom of the doors, infringe of the rearwheels, ect, main reason they can't say they can't verify that miliage is becuase these only came with 99 thousand mile odometer, only 5 digits instead of 6 like now a days

Hi Jerry, nice 4th Gen, but no way would I trade 4-Sure....
There's to many out there by private owners that are dealing that have been updated with "350" or "383" + trans + + +...
Your decision, but I'd pass on this one 4- Real..unless they are giving you this Monte + $15+K...(no less)

You have the last year V8 S.S. & yes you would be going way back with this 4th Monte that has so much less...It may have only 69K miles, but they are old miles.
(unless everything has been replaced from fuel lines, pump, exhaust, gas tank, shocks/springs, generators, water pump, radiator, brake parts, springs, lights,belts/hoses, wiper motors, etc; everything that wears over time)
Please be patient & keep search'in - Please...Your ride-your $'s-your final decision..

Good Luck from `Space

Thanks Space, I may just try to outright sell mine. Really not thrilled about driving 5 hours to see this. LOng way and then possibly have wasted my time. I don't know why they put the discrepency on the mileage, could be true but might not be. Yes, there are alot out there for around that amount with 350's. I would much rather have that engine and T-Tops.

Hi Jerry, I was happy to read that this one is not for you..

Yes, if your are going to sell your 07 S.S. ? Sell it yourself...
Dealers are in business to make $'s from customers...

You will get so much more for your Monte Selling it yourself 4-Sure....

This 4th Gen is a nice one, but it's not your dream one...I'm always checking sites that have them for sale & if I find one close to you I will let you know...There are many out there with super updates with 350 & updated trans and parts.

You might just find a Super one with a 350 T-Tops from a private owner that may want to upgrade to a 07 S.S. & you could make a sweet deal..

I do think the one your posted would have been a big mistake, plus it really isn't the one your really want...
Take your time to search & research 4-Sure...Let your Monte sit for a week or two & I'm sure you will really miss it..Or drive a car from the 80's for a week, and then drive your AweSome 07SS ....WoW ...Patience, and keep searching for what you really, really want 4-Sure....Good Luck

I would definitely run a CarFax check before making a decision. For 62,000 miles to be original the car would have only been driven just under 3,000 a year and the condition should reflect that. Even then there's still the possibility of hidden rust and a very tired drivetrain. 262,000 miles would put just over 9,700 miles a year on it which seems more realistic and in line with average mileage stats. I don't know about other States, but around here once a vehicle rolls 100,000 mileage becomes exempt and car lots are required to notify potential buyers that the mileage may not be accurate and/or unknown.

I told them I was going to pass and they said they wanted my car and can work a better deal for me. I told them I wanted that car, pay mine off and $1500 which would be giving me 15K for mine. I have not even had a call on it for 5 weeks at $15,595. People aren't buying them I guess.....We will see if they decline my offer or counter me. I just want enough cash back for a cowl hood and new wheels for it.
