(PC issues) Getting frustrated...

Default (PC issues) Getting frustrated...

Ok so i'm at the g/f parents and this thing is doing wierd things... so it has the basic IE and Firefor(thanks to me) and it has seemed as of latly the net has been supper goofy... i'll be on here maybe a half an hour and it will almost act as if it losses the net conection and will on both IE and FF but in the tool bar still says conecte... the have quest DSL 100mpbs conected with eithernet cord.. may hook it up with usb and try that o and running xp home ... i'll restart the comp and it will act fine for a while... any ideas... ?

Unplug your modem and router (if you have one) for 15 minutes. Plug everything back in and let it boot back up. Then try to use the internet and see if you can keep a steady connection.

Certainly wouldn't hurt. Could also try Ad-aware, and if you don't have any virus protection software try AVG, it's free.

Something else to keep in mind is the announcement I posted about log in problems. Not saying that's your only problem. It does sound like you have modem problems.

Another FREE one that I used, and pulled some problem files off a co-workers computer at work, was malwarebytes, which removed malware from her computer.

BTW, cnet is the ONLY place I download freeware from.

When was the last cleanup and defrag done?
