Other cars
I really love that 65 Impala SS. It is a really sweet car. Boo #1 coming now. When I was young and believed that everything was either black or white (isn't it amazing how many shades of gray there are as we age?) I had this thing about cars. Basically if it wasn't a Mopar I had no use for it. I had the opportunity to buy a 65 Impala SS hardtop for 300.00 bucks with a blown up 327. I passed on it because it had a bowtie. In my defense though, I have had a few Chevy's before my Monte and every one of them has left me walking. I always blamed the car and not the lack of maintainence by the previous owner.
I also like the 69 Chevelle. Very nice.
Boo #2: I have pics but can't post because my computer is a POS and my Blackberry won't do it for some reason. Here is my list newest to oldest. Be warned as it is mostly Mopar.
2006 Chrysler Town & Country Limited: newly acquired daily driver. She's loaded and awesome for a minivan.
2002 Plymouth PT Cruiser Retro Edition: this is a customized 02 Chrysler PT Cruiser Touring Edition that was a show car til it broke the timing belt coming home from a show. Rough times came soon after and it has been sitting for almost five years. Some day I will redo her. Wife thought she was going to get it in the divorce and make me pay it off and fix it. You see how that went, I still have it. P.S. This is the car the HHR was modeled after. I have a HHR at work and there is no comparison. The PT is a much nicer car. Only downfall is the Mitsubishi engine with a rubber timing belt and interference head.
1995 Chrysler Town & Country Limited: another daily driver
1993 Ford Ranger Xtra Cab: father and son project that never really got off the ground. He is in the Navy in Seattle. Not sure what will become of it.
1990 Toyota Supra Turbo Targa Top: drove it on Playstation. Liked it so much I had to have one. I did much work to make it road worthy. First time out on the road blew a headgasket. Should have stuck to the game. Much more fun.
1988 Dodge B-350 Cargo Maxivan: was going to be a business service van. Didn't open business.
1987 Dodge Diplomat SE: was a daily driven show car. Drove it daily for ten years. Rear pinion yoke broke due to failed U-Joint. Roof rusted badly under the vinyl top. My head says part her out and junk her. My heart says to fix an old friend in need.
1986 Lincoln Towncar Signature Series: bought as a parts car. Pretty well used and abused but mostly complete.
1986 Lincoln Towncar Cartier: bought her wrecked. One family owned. Grand father bought new- passed away- son gets car- grandson parks under Toyota Camry. I have it mostly back together. It has developed a problem I have not figured out yet. When you release the key the starter stays engaged. I replaced starter, starter solonoid, ignition switch and have not solved the issue. I'm confused.
1986 Ford Mustang LX ragtop: was a daily driver- now a project.
1986 Ford Thunderbird: was a project car. Was to be a street legal Bill Elliot Winston Million stock car .not a dead issue but way back on a back burner.
1985 Chevrolet Monte Carlo T-Top : will give up its remaining parts to fix the 81 Turbo
1983 Lincoln Mark VI: was a daily driver, may be again
1981 Dodge Diplomat 2 door Coupe: will be a show car. Ever see an 81 Superbee? Me neither but this will be my interpretation.
1981 Chevrolet Monte Carlo T-Top Turbo: was daily driven until recently. I don't like showering on the way to work when it rains.
1979 Plymouth Volare Custom Wagon: project car
1978 Plymouth Volare Premier Wagon: parts car
1978 Dodge Aspen SE Wagon: daily driver/ show car (plaid interior, disco tunes)
1977 Dodge Aspen SE wagon: not sure yet
1974 Dodge Charger Rallye: one of one car- to restore
1974 Plymouth Duster: project
1973 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus: parts car
1971 Dodge Dart Swinger: big block project
1970 Plymouth Duster 340: project car
1967 Ford Thunderbird 2 door HT.: project car
1966 Dodge Dart 4 door V-8: project car
I think that is all of them for now.
