I wouldn't consider the L67 ballsy. Look at Ford. Their V6 Mustang has more HP than the V8s in the Montes.

B. SS is more or less GMs version of a "luxury" trim. It doesn't mean power like it used to. In all honesty, calling a 200 hp car SS is a joke - even though it looks nice on the outside, it doesn't have the goods to back up the badge.

 

Granted yes fords 3.7 V6 has 305hp. My point about the L67 is it can be made powerful rather easily, theres a never ending list of mods availible.

 

I still think itll be some screwed up car with no good motor choice

 

The talk around the dealership today was that it is going to be an SS impala RWD V8 and it will look just like the version for nascar. It was tested in Feb. Here is a qoute i found-
“We do have a 2013 Impala SS in our shop,” he said. “Actually Kasey Kahne is testing it today. I have seen the production car and the race car and they are identical.

“You can definitely tell it is a Chevrolet. It will be a rear wheel drive, fuel injected V8.”

I believe Rick Hendrick is the one who said this....

The HHR SS had a turbocharged 2.0 putting out 260 horse That is more than an l67 so did the Cobalt SS

 

Yea, but it was in something that looked like a PT cruiser and panel wagon inbred.

 

Shoot, with those body lines, that's the new Monty SS right there....I can dream right?

 

If they make a 2 door version of the rumored Impala SS, it could be called the Monte Carlo.

 

If that 2 door car is a "impala coupe" and not a monte ill be so

If it is impala based, it better be a 2 door and following previous history it better be a monte carlo. Be awesome if they make a V8 RWD monte again, chevy needs to just tell us what it is so we can all stop being so anxious
