If this is GMs answer to THAT, I will be interested.

if its named SS performance, it honestly better have nothing less than a V8 or one ballsy V6 like the L67. Otherwise it doesn't stay true to the SS name plate, especially if this is whats supposed to be going to nascar.

The car pictured on the previous page kind of reminds me of the front end of the SSR.

The sad part is that it actually works for selling cars. I would say "only on the weak minded". Sales on the Pontiac GrandAm grew 300% when renamed G6. So then GM rode that out and started renaming all the Pontiacs to letter-number. So then I wasn't so disappointed to see it go.
I know a few good cars are just letters, not names. Like my beloved-to-be CTS-V Wagon. They are great cars inspite the name, certainly not because of it. And they have to be pretty damn great because they enter the market with the first strike already against them. But I guess the weak minded's money is as good as anyone else's.
Don't forget the GTO. One of the best cars to carry the Pontiac name.

IMO GM disgraced the 'SS' nameplate when they started sticking it on 4 door models.

Mike, many people think the SS nameplate was disgraced many times, and many different ways. I've had one classic car enthusiast insist that the fact the SS nameplate was put on a 6th gen Monte is a disgrace to the nameplate.

Many purists believe the SS nameplate should only be put on RWD V8 musclecars. No exceptions.
