One year with the Nightmare
Today officially marks the monte's one year anniversary!
Its crazy what I've been through in just a year... This car has opened up a whole new world for me, I actually have a social life now
It was really non existent before. All I did was come home, sit on xbox all day..gained a few pounds...and every day I drive i worry my POS 1993 buick regal was going to fall apart. And it literally was!
Its done so much...
My detailing business is heading off to a good start thanks to this car..and I don't have to worry every second that something is going to fall apart. Its so far made a few trips out to mid-Nassau county, made it all the way to montauk point, and recently to High Point state park, NJ..my first trip off Long Island being the driver. I wouldn't be able to do such a thing in any of my last two cars.
I've treated her well so far, changed the oil as soon as I got it to Castrol synthetic only & my most recent oil change to Castrol titanium (since this month has alot of miles, might as well use the good stuff!) Going to be doing a transmission service in the next month or so.. Next week I'll be doing a full coolant system flush, taking out the dexcool completely. By the end of July I'll have the second transmission service done. & so far I've replaced control arms, inner and outer tie rods, sway bar links (poly!!) strut mounts, and next will be motor and transmission mounts(for precautions) sway bars and bushings all around. Alot to be done!
This was the first pic...

The best moment I have to say is when I drove it to work(in the parking lot in that pic) was when everyone came out, drooled over it, and made their hearts stop as I tap the gas pedal and make it rumble!

Congrats Jen! It's good to hear when people are happy with their Monte, happier when it provided something uplifting to their lives (in your case, taking from what you said, I think the two big items the Monte did was give you a new pool of friends to socialize with and it's helped your detailing busines).
Keep on rolling with good news

Good to see you have taken such good care of the car in the year you have owned it! People always give me crap for how clean I keep my car and I just say the cleaner it is the higher resale value it has IF (and thats a big if) I ever sell it. Very clean ride!
