one of the best lookin trucks ive seen
i was cruzin the internet and came across this toyota tacoma x-runner. it has 400 hp supercharged six engine. a six speed trans. i was looking at it and it would be the only toyota that i would ever buy.
2008 Toyota Tacoma X-Runner V6 Summary
The Tacoma X-Runners are designed as street-racing trucks, including a special X-braced frame, a lowered body, a sport-tuned suspension, and wider tires. The X-Runner offers the desirable looks of Toyota's popular midsize pickup, minus the stiff and awkward "trucky" feel. The X-Runner is highlighted by many exclusive features, including a full body skirt kit, hood scoop, 18-inch alloy wheels, wheel-well flares, and a front air dam. Otherwise, features like intermittent wipers, a six-disc CD changer, full power accessories, cruise control, and keyless entry are all standard here.
The X-Runner model is offered only with the Access Cab body and rear-wheel drive. The 4.0-liter V6 provides 236 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque, and this engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The X-Runner zips from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.8 seconds

this place says its an eaton roots type charger. and it adds something like 190 hp to the truck. i would think that its not putting more than 8 lbs of boost through it. but im sure it could be easily changed

Can't say I've ever been much of a fan for Toyota trucks, or really anything Toyota for that matter. While I will give it the fact that it's better looking then the Honda or Lincoln trucks, I still wouldn't want one. I like my Sierra's, or my favorite trucks would be the mid 70 Chevys.

That is a hot lookin truck.
Maybe it's just me, but I think I see some styling cues taken from Ford and Dodge mixed in there.
As for the performance part...
If I want something to race in, I'll take a car. But if I'm buying a truck, I want it to be able haul stuff too without overloading the engine and tranny.
I like the idea of a hot looking truck that can kick butt in a race. But in the end it's a muscle car with an (almost)useless bed instead of a back seat and trunk.
After being subjected to vehicles thatwere "all show and no go"for the better part of the 80's, 90's, and part of the 00's,I want a muscle car with real muscle, an SUV that will really go off road, and a truck I can really haul stuff with.

yeah that part sucked but with that great 6.2 gas guzzler i would have been forking out 500 amonth in gas over the summer. and i would still be payig it off. $36000 or a whole bunch less for the monte i would have loved to have that truck but in the end it wouldnt have been good.
