Good morning guys.
Talk about going from leaf blower to snow blower overnight
So this morning I measured 8.2" of snow at home as yesterdays snowstorm way overachieved the forecasted amounts (a few days before it was only suppose to be 2-4"). Detroit smashed both its 'daily max snowfall' (1984) and its 'November daily snow' (1925) records. Roads are horrible and very slow, a lot have an inch buildup of ice on them and still do this morning. Further North, they've been seeing more lake effect snow and some very persistent bands - one Northern Michigan meteorologist shared a reading of 33" on the ground near Empire, Michigan.
Some snow totals in Michigan (past 48 hrs)
33.0" - Empire
24.0" - Beulah
24.0" - Bangor
16.0" - Suttons Bay
14.0" - Lexington
12.0" - Bad Axe
11.0" - Ann Arbor
11.0" - Grand Marias
10.0" - Sterling Hts
10.0" - Wixom
9.5" - Troy
9.2" - Detroit Metro Airport
8.8" - Wyandotte
6.0" - Saginaw
6.0" - Cass City
5.0" - Midland

^ Dayamn! And I thought it was bad enough in Omaha the other day.
Well, at least I got the '95 Pace Car cleaned up pretty well, before the snow came through and turned the streets into the usual wintertime dirty slopfest.
( ^ Not anywhere as scenic as Matt's pics above, but at least it's got some leaves.)

Good morning guys.
After breaking snowfall records the past couple days, we're breaking temp records. Was 3 degrees when I left earlier this morning, 'felt like' 0. Here's records we've broke over the past few days - notice how old most of these are:
(1) 8.5" of snow at Detroit Metro Airport (Nov. 11)
> breaks old 'daily max snowfall' record of 4.1" (1984)
> breaks old 'November daily snowfall' record of 6.2" (1925)
(2) 9.2" storm total at Detroit Metro Airport (Nov. 11-12)
> becomes Detroit's biggest November snow storm ever, breaking old record of 9.0" (1932)
(3) 8.6" of snow at Flint Bishop Airport (Nov. 11)
> breaks old 'daily max snowfall' record of 3.0" (1933)
(4) 9.0" storm total at Flint Bishop Airport (Nov. 11-12)
> ties for 3rd biggest November snow storm
(5) Low temp of 13⁰F at Detroit Metro Airport (Nov. 12 @ 11:53pm)
> breaks old record of 16⁰F (1983)
(6) Low temp of 7⁰F at Detroit Metro Airport (Nov. 13 @ 2:53am)
> breaks old record of 12⁰F (1911)
(7) Low temp of 7⁰F at Flint Bishop Airport (Nov. 12 @ 7:53am)
> breaks old record of 15⁰F
(8) Low temp of 2⁰F at Flint Bishop Airport (Nov. 13 @ 2:53am)
> breaks old record of 12⁰F

Yes, while we had some 20 degree nights in SEPTEMBER along with two snow falls...it seemed to mellow out a bit and be an almost normal Fall.AFTER severl mornings awakening to temps like 3 degrees...yesterdy we had a storm out of nowhere, dumped a lot even faster than the plows could get out there, and Boundary County IDT rocks! I cancelled an appointment at 9;15 seeing the sudden dump, it was for 10 am. Missed a head on collision by staying home. You know how it is, coming down hard and sitting right at 30 degrees..it's like snot!
This hwy is one of the most dangerous in the nation. On the bright side, if I'm in a wreck I am 1.56 times likely to die...scant shoulders, one lane each way, and enough traffic for a nice 7 lane freeway like I was used to in CA. There just isn't room through this pass for that....and it's a lifeline to Canada. Yay Hwy 95 Idaho Northern Panhandle, northernmost tip of the Rockies.
Front wheel drive kicks ***. Wish I had the traction control and ABS, but I have to get a right rear wheel bearing and assembly for those things to work again. The bearing is fine, it's the assembly thats triggering the system. That's gonna be awhile, I can't do that kind of money with this weather, it's all going to wood and power.

Good morning guys.
Snowing again this morning; have around 1" of new snow. So we're right at 10" of snowfall so far this season which, for just being halfway through November, is nuts. That 10" has all fallen since Halloween night, so exactly two weeks.

Well we got a Blizzard that ran thru Nebraska and created alot of closings and delays. Interstate 80 has been closed off and on from yesterday I think they have it open again but if the wind picks up it may be bad again. On the Bright side I got my Christmas lights all up last week and that was smart to finish because of the nasty weather.
Before the snow storm hit.

Afternoon everyone.
Can't believe it's already Thanksgiving tomorrow. Last few days has been right around 50 degrees. We had steady rain overnight into this morning which is more scattered now with winds gusting up to 60 mph. And it's been snowing pretty good in the Upper Peninsula - I'm seeing reports from this morning of up to 13.5". Mackinac Bridge was closed earlier due to high winds and has since been doing vehicle escorts due to the winds.
Dean, lights look nice We'll probably do most if not all of our Christmas decorating this weekend.
