a nice little update for you guys, cts-v build!
i figured i would update you guys on the wife and my current project. some of you may remember my post about black friday shopping etc and in that post i mentioned i made a big purchase of many car parts. well here are some pics of the parts and the work in progress. we are almost complete with installing these parts and then its time to hit the rollers, get tuned, and see what she makes! we are hoping for in the neighborhood of 600whp. i hope you enjoy following through this post of the many pics i have
first we started with a 4" new era FWI with a 14" green filter. this was on the car previous to the black friday event.

at this point it was time for the big build:
we are going with a 2.4 sc pulley to increase the blower speed for more boost. this was done with a modular pulley hub.

do to the much smaller sc pulley we needed a bigger idler pulley to give the belt wrap needed to prevent belt slip on the smaller sc pulley.

we also went with a different crank pulley (modular as well) with a bigger sc ring to increase blower spin for more boost. we went with a 8.6" ring.
(pulley)

(8.6" sc ring)

do to the bigger sc ring on the crank pulley we needed a smaller idler down there for clearance.

quick pic of the pulleys

now for you guys that know how this stuff works you know this added boost will make intake air tempt spike quick, it was time we resolved that issue.
we went with this massive heat exchanger

(this was the crappy stock unit)

to aid in cooling we also added a high volume heat exchanger pump

the last part to aid in the cooling process is the ice box, this is a coolant reservoir that allows to dump ice into when at the track to drastically cool the IAT's (also installing a 160 t-stat but dont have a pic of it)

now with the added boost and the air cool it is starving for more air and fuel, this will be addressed with bigger injectors and a ported throttle body
ID850 injectors

90mm ported ls7 tb

with all this added air flow coming in we have to get it out as well, this is where the 2" primary/ 3" collector headers, 3" catless/ x-pipe/ mid pipes to factory axle back come into place

we also have to use colder plugs. with these cars they are known for the sc isolator going bad, we are solving this issue by replacing the isolator with a improved solid isolator.

too add a little visual mod we are installing this carbon fiber splitter as well!

now that we have all the parts its time to install!!!
first on the list: heat exchanger
out with the old

in with the new!

next, engine dis-assembly

at this point we installed the new sc pulley, solid isolator, ZL1 lid, injectors, tb, crank pulley, plugs

the wifey working

now we ran the new coolant lines for the heat exchanger and buttoned up the whole engine bay.

now it was time to tackle the headers and exhaust

this is where we are at right now, still need to mount the IC pump and "burp" the system, tune for the injectors, install bumper, install splitter but she has been coming along very well!!
thanks everyone for reading through my post, i know its not monte carlo related but its another pride of mine so i figured i would share with my mcf family!
