New Camaro V-6 vs Genesis Coupe
#11
Camaro hands down! I'm a GM person, I can't help it....I've always loved camaro's. I can't believe how much power the new V6 Camaro puts out. It's practically the same as the 2002 Z-28! And the V8 must just be amazing...Anyone see the Motor Trend add about the rumors for a Z-28 version of the new Camaro that will have the corvette ZR1 6.2L Supercharged V8 good for 620HP?? Whoot Whoot!

GM Recalls 2010 Chevrolet Camaro With V8 Engine
GM Recalls 2010 Chevrolet Camaro With V8 Engine
Date posted: 05-07-2009
WASHINGTON — General Motors is recalling 1,243 of its 2010 Chevrolet Camaros equipped with a V8 engine. A potential short in the engine compartment could cause the vehicle to stall without the ability to restart or could result in an engine compartment fire, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"The positive battery cable may contact the starter motor housing and cause wear on the cable insulation," said NHTSA in its recall summary of the problem. "If the insulation wears through the cable, it could create a short.
"A short could result in a no-start condition, cause the vehicle to stall without the ability to restart, or result in an engine compartment fire."
The problem was first discovered in a 2010 Camaro SS, according to GM documents filed with the government.
Chevrolet dealers will reroute the positive battery cable to ensure adequate clearance. GM said it will start calling customers on May 6 and anticipates mailing owner letters on May 18. Owners can contact Chevrolet at (800) 630-2438.
Inside Line says: If you own one of the aforementioned Camaros, have it checked out ASAP with your dealer.

I too would take the Camaro, though I'm not a huge fan of the dash layout.
the article though seems biased toward the Genesis. I mean, they pitted a fully loaded Genesis with the handling package, against a base model pre-production Camaro, and then revel in how much more agile the Genesis is. Why not make it a fair test, and pit an SS2 with the RS package against the Genesis, it'll blow it's doors off.
Exterior wise, the genesis looks happy, and borderline cute, the Camaro looks like it wants to eat your soul and kick your ***. I'll take the Camaro thank you very much.
