I won't buy one for a few reasons. First it won't fit in my family dynamic as far as transportation needs exist. The second is that I would only buy a new American car. I want to try to keep American workers working. This car also proves that a retro car can be restyled and still be retro. I applaud VW for doing what Chrysler, General Motors, and Ford said can't be done. Chrysler killed the PTCruiser saying it could not be restyled. There attempt in 2006 was terrible. Chevrolet used the same excuse to kill the HHR, and Ford is changing the Mustang saying that retro is dead.

Considering VW invested $5 Billion just this year in the US by building a plant in Tennessee I would definitely buy one because I support companies that invest in the USA. I would love to have one of the new American built Passats

It's so hard to honestly buy American nowadays just by brand.

I mean, our 6th Gens are Canadian built.

Someone had posted an article at one time that had a grid that showed all the automobile manufacturers and the % made in each country. I can't seem to find it though. But I remember that just about all of the manufacturers used at least 70% of parts made in the US and Toyota was surprisingly high.

VW did a nice job with the new roof line. It's not so "round" looking. The '12 Black Turbo Edition looks sweet. Still wouldn't buy one. I'd go with an Audi over VW.
