need help removing 194 bulb from trunk

The bulb melting into the socket happens a lot. All you can really do is try to break it loose from the plastic. Or go with the LED strip lighting and forget about the melted socket.

The sticky side slid right off? That's pretty stuck. At work, we've had situations where I had to break the old bulb in order to save the socket. If you do resort to that unplug the wire harness going to the socket so you don't blow a fuse. And wrap some tape around the bulb to keep the broken glass from going everywhere. Standard 194 bulbs are super cheap. Sockets are more expensive. Breaking a socket to save the bulb isn't worth it.

But breaking the bulb should be a last resort.
