N.Y. state man arrested for having high cap mags
A N.Y. man has been arrested and charged with 5 felonies for possession of 5 Ar-15 magazines. No weapon in his car, just the magazines. Is it starting, the crackdown, state by state as laws are passed. And here is the kicker, the man is a combat veteran from tha Afghanistan conflict. And to top that off he is a decorated hero who recently was a guest of honor at a pentagon function. Here is an excerpt from his ceremony:
The story of why he was singled out by a community hundreds of miles from Fort Drum began late last year, when he received a call from a 10th Mountain Division (LI) buddy, “Kyle” – a combat engineer who was left with a broken back when a roadside bomb detonated under his vehicle in Afghanistan.
I was completely blown away,” he said of the experience. “It was just an absolutely incredible honor.”
Haddad said he and his friend received a standing ovation after the general and Junger were introduced to some 400 guests in the Lincoln Ballroom.
“When Kyle came in, I don’t think there was a dry eye in that whole place,” he said of the young specialist, who was told by doctors in Bagram that he would never walk again. “They gave a brief synopsis of what had happened to him … and here he came walking up (unaided). No cane. No kind of assistance at all.”
Haddad said he believed the evening’s theme, “From War to Home,” was a topic that’s crucial for communities across America to understand and support.
And now he is being treated like a criminal, one day your gold the next day your crap. This weapons things has the potential to make criminals out of many otherwise law abiding citizens.
LeRay Man Faces Weapons Possessions Charges
Story Published: Jan 7, 2013 at 6:15 AM EST
A town of LeRay man was accused Sunday of possessing high-capacity magazines for an assault rifle.
Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies say 32 year old Nathan Haddad allegedly had five 30-round magazines for an AR-15 rifle in his possession.
Police say the magazines were found during a vehicle check on Steinhilber Road in the town of LeRay.
Haddad was charged with five counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon and arraigned in Watertown town court.
And another kicker about this is we have heard NOTHING about this from the MSM, like they don't want this soldier to be a poster child for turning the law abiding citizen into a criminals... I hope this insanity does not spiral out of control...

Wow thats unbelieveable! A decorated war veteran?
WE HAVE obama TO THANK FOR THAT!
Looks like were going to be come communist country before you know it!
Really? Just for haveing munitions and no weapon present...Sheesh whats next?
Guess I better be super law abideing the next time I go to get more ammo?
The laws havent even gone into effect yet for the ban on weapons and ammo???????
As you may or maynot know...Some munitions are becomeing hard to get!
Right now availability at the gun shop I frequent... allows you to only purchase 1 box of ammo a day... Because of supply and demand..
Thats just so SAD!

Umm, that's very illegal. And since he's a decorated vet, very unpopular move by the gov't. Keep it up NY, you'll be the undoing of your own laws.
I'd like to know why they pulled him over in the first place. Could be enough to overturn the charges alone.
