My Teacher Shot Someone....

My Teacher Shot Someone....
Well guys, yesterday one of my teachers shot someone. In fact, it wasn't even the first time he has shot a person. He has shot countless people in his days....
You see, my teacher is a photographer.
Yeah, maybe I'm cruel for doing this. But I'm trying to make a point... we can't take things for what they may look like at first. We have to examine things with closer attention, we can't make a snappy decision at the first sound of a news story. Sorry to get anybody excited.

RE: My Teacher Shot Someone....
well any story really... the point was really don't judge a story by its headline. a good example was a man in Atlanta last year... the Atlanta Journal Constitution printed a story "Marine Kills Preganant Woman". well it turns out he was a former marine, walking home late one night. 5 teenagers jumped out of a van and began taunting and threatening him. when they attacke,d he drew a pocket knife, stabbed one man and the pregnant woman... and the woman died a couple hours later. the point was, yes, he killed her... out of self defense. a teacher gave this example in class one day, and i just thought he had a really good point.

Sensational, misleading headlines used to only appear in tabloids. Unfortunately it seems every media outlet does it now just to hook you in. Personally, I don't like it. For examples like the one you gave, Cowboy. Makes the Marines look bad.

Cowboy,
The media is in the business of Hype. They sell hype not news.
The Hype gives them ratings.
I remember thecase you referto. The guy actually try to run away but they caught up with him that is when he used his knife.

Exactly why I do not read Newspapers or watch TV News.
They are getting harder and harder to believe. I know more then once it was reported Baseball legion Joe DiMaggio had died when he hadn't. Or Bob Keeshan known to millions ofbaby boomers as Captain Kangaroo. I know I personally heard no less then 3 times Bob Keeshan had passed away on TV News programs when infact he was still living at the time.

The point is, don't believe every thing you hear.
And also goes along with what I posted about NOT believing in any study you've read as they are designed to achieve the outcome they're looking to get.
