Who is talking watering down horsepower or performance?

Please remember now days you can buy aftermarket parts for your 1960s Mopar to make it handle like a 2010 Ferrari.

Even as little as 10 years ago a lot of these parts were not available. A-arms, urethane bushings, shocks, wheels, tires, brakes, even complete ready to run frames to set your car's body down on.

For example Art Morrison. He makes complete frames for Tri-5 Chevies. As well as other cars. And there are two other companies out there who got in to making frames for Tri-5 Chevies as well.

These aftermarket frames allow you to run just about any brake set up you want. Any engine/trans combo. The rear end of your choice. As well as shocks and/or air bags.

I know the Art Morrison frames lower the center of gravity of a '55/56/57 Chevy so they handle better versus stock configuration.

They have more cross members versus astock frame and more triangulation for improvedridigity of the frame.

So there's no need to water down performance of your old Classic or Muscle car.

I think there is a missunderstanding. I wouldnt call it watering down the performance, but 600+ horsepower is just not necessary for a big ol car like that. Instead of calling it watering down, lets calling it keeping it managable.

I love it!!!
Classics like that deserve to be restored, not crushed.

Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my keyboard.

the one thing i tihnk i would have done differently is do the interior first... that way you don't have to worry about scratching the door jams or anything while trying to put your seats in....

the way i would od it....

1: Take the front end off the vehicle
2: Remove drivetrain
3:Strip the interior/trunk, have it all reupholstered
4: Remove from chassis
5: Repaint chassis and car
6: Bolt back to chassis
7: Put front end back on
8: Details, details, details.
