Default Muscle Cars... help me!

Hey y'all

I have no myspace gimmicks for you tonight! Instead, I need help with an essay I'm writing for class.

I elected to write about muscle cars - what they are, common characteristics, examples, etc etc. Normally this would be a cakewalk but like all essays, I need sources. That's where I hit a roadblock.

I'm hoping a few of you can provide me with some good, reliable websites with relevant information so I have some spine to my essay. If there are sites that have information on certain makes such as the GTO, Buick GN, Challenger, etc. that's alright too. I know there are some serious muscle car gurus on here, so I'm hoping those guys can help me out here.

Essay is due on Monday So it's go-time

Paul Zanzarine is an expert on muscle cars and specifically the GTO. He is deceased but wrote for many of the muscle car mags and a few books. A search of him should net some results. For Mopar experts research Galen Govier. He is the Mopar expert and whom Mopar guys use to document their cars. Another Mopar expert would be Greg Rager. He has been the editor of many Mopar mags. Also check out Mopar Collectors Guide, Mopar Muscle, and Mopar Action as references. In addition there is Hemmings Motor News plus a few other mags they publish. Also Muscle Car Review. I hope this sets you in the right direction.
There are differing opinions as to what is the first muscle car and what is the last. Some say it started with the Chrysler Hemi cars of the fifties. Others say the 55 Chevy with the modern small block. Others yet credit the 64 GTO. Some others say that 72 was the last year. If so then what are the 80's GM G- bodies, the Fox Mustangs and a few other Fox bodies and that doesn't even scratch the surface of 80's to present Mopars.

What ever happened to the days of research papers used books and periodicals (and maybe a little Internet)??
I'm sure there are many books and magazines (some of which now placed into online resources) about the "Muscle Car" Genre. Things like "Super Chevy" magazine might be able to help (and they have TONS of online content).
Unibody vs non-unibody is a debatable concept on muscle car or not a muscle car. Such as, would one consider the 80's Z28s and IROCs muscle cars (as they are unibodies)?

I agree Lou. When they started sticking 396 motors in Nova's & Camaro's. I'd say those were muscle cars alright. I don't see any metion of the World known Muscle car ? Ohh that right It's the 454 Chevelle.

Thanks guys. Wiki is not a reliable source in the eyes of professors unfortunately. Real magazines are fine, but internet is faster.

I should be able to work with this info. Thanks y'all
