the only thing i don't like about the silverado are how low the 4x4's sit in the front... my co-worker's '11 Z71 4x4 is lower than my ranger, actually sit's about even with the monte! but as for the quality and ride, holy crap they are like more like a cadillac than a truck! and they are some of the cheapist price wise... the ford's are crazy expensive anymore.

If I was in the market for a new truck it would be a RAM. I really like the looks. I was disappointed with the looks of the 02-09 style. The 2010 restyle looked much better. I have not heard a lot about the new Fords. The last Ford truck I liked was the 95. The 96 and newer one had frames that were so light that on washboard roads the frame flexed enough that the front of the bed would hit the back of the cab denting it. I hope they fixed that. I didn't care for the styling of those trucks either. As for the Silverado this last restyle is one of the ugliest I've ever seen. I have a 2010 Silverado 2500 at work. We have had it close to two years and it doesn't have 10,000 miles on it yet. The truck is powerful but it is ugly. The paint is already starting to get chalky and the interior isn't wearing well. Our last truck was a 99 I think and it didn't have a lot of miles on it either but the paint was trashed and so was the interior. These trucks don't get any love but they don't really get abused either. They just sit in the parking lot until they are needed. I will concede that the Florida sunshine is brutal. The seat foam breaks down and disintegrate s, the interior plastic gets chalky and breaks, the dash boards swell and crack and shrink. The paint just pells off to the primer and the primer rusts thru. GM is a corporate sponsor so most of our vehicles at work are GM. I can't compare a Dodge or Ford under similar conditions because we don't have them. Too be fair I have to say that we did have a 95 Dodge Grand Caravan in service that was set up for wheel chair transport and the paint on that wasn't much better than the Chevy's but the interior was much better.

i'm probably a minority on this one but...

i actually like the looks of the older silverados better than the new ones. The newer ones look pretty sweet when they've got a lift kit, but stock i'd rather have this guy

I drove a ford truck 1800 miles for a friend once. I would never do it again. I do like the newer navigator. My boss has one and i drove it last summer. Its smooth as can be. But as far as trucks go its Chevy or GMC.
