I'm running dial up at 48k, and forums like the Sights and Sounds forum I NEVER go into, cuz it brings my connection to a halt.
I like the KISS rule: Keep It Simple Stupid! Fixing a couple of minor issues is one thing, but we don't need flashy. I won't be here if we have that, like several forums we have tried.

Just curiously, why haven't you jumped toa cable modem or dsl? For me it saves me more money by saving me time surfing than I pay for it.

I don't know about where Wayne lives, but I just recently (within last 8-9 months) got high speed. It wasn't available here, and even now it's Clearwire or dial-up. Three miles down the road you can get Yahoo High Speed and about 200 yards from here RoadRunner is available. I have Dish Network fortv, but I can'tget the satellite internet they offer.Go figure.
I end up spending more time online because I don't get frustrated andgive up like I did with dial up. I was hoping it would work the other way.

Cable and DSL are cheaper, but you have to keep up with the deals and bounce from one to another.

We used to have dial up a few years ago. 50% of the time you couldnt even get connected let alone surf the web quickly. DSL is about the same price for us as dial up was and we have 5 computers using it now(wireless router) where before we only had 1 hooked up.

x2

I don't think I've ever had a problem with any of the images on this site not showing up. Excluding when I'm home and using dial up, but I'm back at school now so it's all good.
