Evening MCF'ers. 
I screwed up. In the MOTM nominations thread this morning, I said that nominations would end tomorrow morning. That's wrong.
Nominations end on Thursday morning, the 27th. Sorry.

Even as an officer there is little opportunity for advancement past CPT if you don't have a combat patch. Those who have never been deployed will almost every time get passed over in favor of someone who has been deployed if both candidates are equal in all other areas. That's the way the way the Army works. Besides, how can I expect to lead soldiers if they have more experience than I do. Plus as an instructor, I need to have the experience to draw from as I mold civilians into soldiers. That's why I need the experience, so I can be a better instructor and leader.

evening all raked up the yard and cut down the weeds but then it got dark so i'll have to cut the grass for the last time tomorrow. It will be nice to put the lawn mower away for the season.
