Some people I know from the area like it there because the summers are much more mild....
But let me just say this: around here, when a storm comes thru in the wintertime, you don't have to go outside and shovel your driveway, brush off your car, look at salt, etc.
In the summer time, yes, its VERY hot here on certain days... learn to bear it. Atleast you didn't have to get up 2 hours earlyat any time this winterand shovel 11" of snow out of your driveway to get your car out. Atleast you most likely didn't slip and fall on the ice. Atleast you didn't spend 10 minutes getting your heavy jacket, overalls, etc. on (okay, maybe you guys who are used to it don't take this long but I do). I like the weather where I live... hot summer, mild winter (we did have 6" here last week, but guess what... all gone now)... so I have to agree... winter north of the Mason-Dixon sucks...

If my parents hadn't moved to O-HE-O in the 1950s I wouldn't be too far from you right now, Duane.
Last time I was in Virgina during the month of january it was almost 70 degrees. I'm sure that's somewhatunusual for them for them to have those temps at this time of year. But it's more likely for that area to have them then my area is.
Having said that. One time in the 1980s it got to be 82 degrees one day in january around here. It waseither 1984 or 85.
