Behind the WHAT??? LMAO.
I know...typo. Everyone makes mistakes. Sorry, but it's still funny though.
I was waiting until Chris solved the problem before posting this.

RE: mickey and matt
hey SCC24540, i am currently going to school for HVAC Service Tech. and your problem sounds more like an electrical issue rather than a leaky hose. i don't believe a leak in the vacuum hose would cause your ac to go from blowing air through the vents then to the floor. i will look into this more for you, but for now try turning the car on, have the vent control set to blow through the vents, then turn it to blow onto the floor. see if you can hear a contact close. the dampers should be shutting to the vents so the air can move across the floor. if you get no results, or it acts normal, then rev the engine while in park and see if it does it again. if it does i believe you have a bad contactor. when you rev you get more current, more current on a bad contactor can cause arcing. i feel that when you accelerate the contactor contacts arc causing them to temporarily close, which will then close the vent dampers, and open the floor dampers. thus air moving through the floor. i hope this helps, again i will look into your problem and try to find out more info.

RE: mickey and matt
glad to hear ya found it .
I knew it was a vac. leak it was a matter of where on that model monte.
when this happens it is almost 99.9% of the time it is a vac leak someplace in that system. to allow it to stay in that position .
