taz - the shifter **** has the leds built in, the wire comes out from inside the metal piece on the bottom. the end of the wire is the lighter adapter. it's not what i expected - in the description on their website, it showed a small "wormhole" in the ball itself where the light went in, and whichever adapter you purchased had the light on the end. so if you wanted to hard wire it, you would just pop the light in and wire it. but the leds are built into mine, which i guess is better, since there are at least 4 of them in there. it looks very cool at night! which leads me to...

jj, i just went to mcd's for some chicken strips, really more of an excuse to check out the **** in the dark, but they were yummy i tried taking a pic of the **** but it didn't come out right, i'll have to take my regular camera out there tomorrow.
