How much does mechanics usually mark up parts?

I suppose it all depends on the place...

from what i've seen, most make $30 an hour + parts, but you will get lots of quotes from the others on here!!

Its really all over the map. I depends on the shop. Some shops charge from 30-150% above cost.

beign i work at a yota stealership while talking with a few of the people here on parts n stuff it some times depends on the part too...some are just rediculious on mark up

go to gmpartsdirect.com then ask your mechanic how much that part would cost.
