Ryan, I'm not going to the Corn Festival. As expected, it's raining.

Wayne, I'm a fan of trucks. But I'd have to go with the GP GXP. I'm surprised that 06 is so beat up. Obviously a lease that didn't give a sh*t.

Side note to everyone:

I found this GP GXP last night, 59K miles, but looked spotless (it was, and still is raining), for $13,800. All the toys, 5.3 V8, HUD, etc, etc, etc.

Man! If that's your idea of a winter beater will you adopt me?!?!? Your potential beater makes my stuff look like snot. Fwd vs 4wd in the snow, seems like a toss up but would be nice to have the truck if you needed it for getting out in a bad storm, however I know about wanting new toys too. Started looking for a little $4000 commuter car and bought my Monte for almost twice that, so what the hell treat yourselves and enjoy the Grand Prix! It looks great!

Isn't it funny how different we all are. The boat forum I am on is the same way. I bought my house and 3 acres for 120,000. Guys on there buy boats for 150,000 and up. Always makes me chuckle.

that was a GREAT buy on the house, todd

are prices still like that out there? my dad has wanted to move for YEARS & our house w/ 1 bathroom on 1 acre was not updated scince the late 70s was valued right at that.... i guess being this close to NYC does have its benifits... but we cant stand the "cityots" that flock out here....

out of curiosity, how big is your house??

We bought a 2 acre plot for 9,000 and built the house on it for about 70K.

It was a great project building a house with my dad Especially since I got to live in it for about 3 years when we were done haha

Prices are still down here. You can by 5 acres up the road from me in a gated development for 50,000 with mountain views. I expect prices will go back up now that things are turning around. The median home price for the area is 250,000.

Currently I am in a 1975 1800 sq foot 4 bedroom double wide manufactured home. As soon as the economy turns around I am going to build a house.

Just before the economy took a dump, I had a 1440 sq foot shop. It still needs the floor concreted, wiring, insulation and sheeted. That will have to wait until next year. My hope is that I will be able to keep the boat in there and not have to winterize it.

Thats a great price. A city lot is now down to 35,000 and we are the cheapest area around.
