well camaro is gettin worse looks like when i run it friday at the track its gonna pop which means a newer bigger more powerful motor

So I found a bonneville for $200. Its a 2000, base one, with a 3800 and 180k miles. Body and motor seem great but it shifts hard. Worth it?? I plan on putting in a tranny and selling it

No car running yet, got the front cover and timing chain off, the bottom gear the chain runs on has a huge crack in it where the crank key wedged in and cracked it
