Morning everyone! It's a cool fall day out there today. I had to get my right front wheel fixed again. A year or so ago, one of the guy's at the tire shop thought it would be a good idea to grind off the residue from the factory original Goodyear's. Great idea. He ground off the protective clear coat. So ever since, the aluminum has been corroding inside the rim, at the bead. The wheel will be fine for a little bit, then develop a slow leak when the exposed aluminum corrodes. Their solution is to grind it even more.
I was planning on taking the wheel to a professional re-finisher once the wheels come off for the winter. But the air was leaking out too fast to wait. So yesterday I sprung the $25 bucks to get the bead cleaned up again. When I take my Junior rims off for the winter next month. That wheel is going for re-finishing. Then, the next time someone grinds my wheels, I'm taking the grinder to their car.

Morning all, my sedond day in a row working my tail off... now its just getting everything done for next wednesday... shouldn't be too hard, I have had much harder challenges... but still difficult nonetheless...
Good to see you space, taz, I don't blame you for wanting to take a grinder to their car, I would do just the same. In fact, that's why I no longer have aftermarket chrome wheels... nobody wants to buy them for that reason either.
