I had a feeling something was bad, but hoped it would pass? just, let's hope for the best for her? thanks for listening, I will say more when I know more! for the close members that I know and all other members here, say a prayer and hope for her! thank you
thanks guys, the whole reason I didn't bring it up was because she knows that smoking is gonna kill her, same with me, it is brought on because of what we do! I'm gonna be forty years old this month and not getting any younger, I have a 13 year old dauhgter that I may not see get married someday! I hope that anyone who picks up a cigarette tomorrow knows what it can cause in the long run! sorry trying to fight off the tears, thanks for your thoughts! DON'T SMOKE, PLEASE

I'll get the ball rolling for you then..
My 04 is visiting with my mechanic still tonight
Took it in Monday, the check engine light was on and I don't have a code reader yet. Since I've only had it a month and since I took a risk buying something used without knowing the PO and the history - i thought i should take it in.
Turns out it was an EVAP Large leak error. He went all through it, took the tank off, checked the filters, etc etc ... can't seem to find anything. Said he'd try a new gas cap but he just didn't think that was it. Cheap enough to try at least... I told him while he was at it to go ahead and replace the fuel filter... well, apparently it was rusted and he was afraid he'd break the line trying to get it off so he sprayed stuff on it and let it sit overnight.
Unfortunately didn't get to talk to him today, but I think they were getting it back together late this afternoon from talking to the other guy. It sounded like he doesn't plan to charge me for labor checking it out since he hasn't been able to fix it yet - one reason why I like this guy so much, seems really honest and he's done that for me before with my other car - so I can't complain about it taking longer than I expected.
Maybe I'll get it back tomorrow

lets hope so, the first week I had my car I had to flatbed tow it back to the place I bought it from, sucked bigtime seeing it on a freaking tow truck! turned out to be a bad cell in the battery and replaced for nothing!!! I looked at my car every 5 seconds on the tow and told the driver don't f it up man!!! I was nervous as all hell!!!!
It's okay Mike.... we know you're more than capable of modifying your car!
My Monte has never been on a roll back so far, the only problem I've had was the a/c going out in late spring '07. Other than that it's just been oil changes!
perlgurl, I'm glad you have someone you can trust who won't try to take you for a ride when it comes to these things! Hopefully you are back on the road enjoying your Monte in no time.
And Chris, don't feel bad about taking up part of the blog. This is a family place and when a family member is in an emergency, I see nothing wrong with posting about it here. It's not like you're over dramatizing it or trying to gain sympathy or anything. We're a family forum and we look out for one another
