Going to a work function tonight after work. A holiday party. Oh JOY. I get to hang out with people from work. I'm debating whether or not to go. If I wake up in the morning and feel like crap like I do right now I'm just going home when they let us leave. It sucks bcz i went out and bought some red snakeskin boots (O I know HOW tacky) to match my car, becz I was gonna wear all red, but yknow how that goes. If it even THINKS about snowing, I'm going home.

White Oak cops will be everywhere, and I'm SURE that there will be more than our fair share of ppl there who can't handle their alcohol. With my luck lately, I'm NOT going to push it and get my car involved in an accident or another paintscrape.... let's just say that there are some ppl who drive to work with their bumpers hanging off... and expired inspection stickers and expired tags. I'm NOT going to assume everybody has good insurance like myself. I'm NOT trying to have another claim within five months of the last claim / total loss. Esp two in the same year!!!

Maybe I'm playing it safe, maybe I'm letting my paranoia stop me from having fun but honestly I'd rather NOT hang out with ppl from work.... this is called "fraternizing" and I'm afraid that if I'm seen having TOO much fun with some of my "managers" and "floor support" that could mean getting wrote up or worse... rumors are flying about they're trying to close the doors earlier than planned and I want to have a plan of action with my fellow coworkers if they decide to SCREW us.

The Power of Positive Attitude
(a reminder 2 `self 2 not give `up : )

Positive attitude helps to cope more easily with the daily affairs of life. It brings optimism into your life, and makes it easier to avoid worry and negative thinking. If you adopt it as a way of life, it will bring constructive changes into your life, and makes them happier, brighter and more successful. With a positive attitude you see the bright side of life, become optimistic and expect the best to happen. It is certainly a state of mind that is well worth developing and strengthening.
Positive attitude manifests in the following ways:

Positive thinking.

Constructive thinking.

Creative thinking.

Expecting success.

Optimism.

Motivation to accomplish your goals.

Being inspired.

Choosing happiness.

Not giving up.

Looking at failure and problems as blessings in disguise.

Believing in yourself and in your abilities.

Displaying self-esteem and confidence.

Looking for solutions.

Seeing opportunities.

A positive attitude leads to happiness and success and can change your whole life. If you look at the bright side of life, your whole life becomes filled with light. This light affects not only you and the way you look at the world, but also your whole environment and the people around you. If it is strong enough, it becomes contagious.

The benefits of a positive attitude:

Helps achieving goals and attaining success.

Success achieved faster and more easily.

More happiness.

More energy.

Greater inner power and strength.

The ability to inspire and motivate yourself and others.

Fewer difficulties encountered along the way.

The ability to surmount any difficulty.

Life smiles at you.

People respect you.

Negative attitude says: you cannot achieve success.
Positive attitude says: You can achieve success.

If you have been exhibiting a negative attitude and expecting failure and difficulties, it is now the time to change the way you think. It is time to get rid of negative thoughts and behavior and lead a happy and successful life. Why not start today? If you have tried and failed, it only means that you have not tried enough.

Developing a positive attitude that will lead you to happiness and success:

- Choose to be happy.

- Look at the bright side of life.

- Choose to be and stay optimistic.

- Find reasons to smile more often.

- Have faith in yourself and in the Power of the Universe.

- Contemplate upon the futility of negative thinking and worries.

- Associate yourself with happy people.

- Read inspiring stories.

- Read inspiring quotes.

- Repeat affirmations that inspire and motivate you.

- Visualize only what you want to happen.

- Learn to master your thoughts.

- Learn concentration and meditation.

The Big Payback

GM to begin quarterly payments for borrowed government money

Posted by Joshua Condon on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 2:06 PM
GM could make good on its debts to Uncle Sam as soon as early June, according to interim CEO Ed Whitacre Jr.

Speaking to journalists in Detroit, Whitacre said that GM will make quarterly payments to the government to pay back $6.7 billion in loans, starting with a check for $1.2 billion this month.

Of course, the government's investment in GM far exceeds $6.7 billion -- the figure is more in the ball park of $52 billion (or
as high as $56 billion). However, most of that investment was converted into equity, which is why the government now owns 61 percent of the company.

Of course, President Barack Obama and various officials within his administration have made it very clear, very often, that they are uncomfortable remaining shareholders in a private company. The most efficient (likely the only) way for the government to recoup anything resembling the majority of its investment would be a public offering of GM stock, though Whitacre has said no timetable is in place for such an offering.
