Good evening everyone!

I'm really ticked off right now. Two days ago the chrome valve stem caps on my Monte were stolen. Wasn't sure where exactly it was done. At work, in a mall parking lot, or at home. About an hour ago, I find out it was a small group of young kids 8-10 years old. And it was done right in my driveway. They tried it again on my neighbor's Grand Prix an hour ago, but got caught in the act.

Some local small auto garages are buying these stolen items from the kids. Cleaning them up. Then selling them to customers. Old trick I know. But still ticks you off when people are taking stuff off your car in your own driveway. During the day, no less!

That's also the reason I'll never buy another pair of GTS smoked headlight covers. Had three sets stolen off of my 91 Z24 many years ago. I know. I was stupid to buy the second and third sets. But I was young and stupid back then. And I really wanted them. Unfortunately someone thought they looked better on their car, then it did mine.

Sorry for the rant. I needed to vent.

Sorry for getting off track JJ.

I'm glad to hear your mom is settling in. Must have been hard to do. You obviously want the best for your mom, and want her to be happy.

I know it happens to all of us. But it's a shame to see kids getting into illegal activities at such a young age. Hopefully it doesn't lead to progressively worse things as they get older. Sure it's only valve caps today. But it can grow to bigger, more expensive stuff.

But hopefully they learn the error of their ways now, and don't end up with a criminal record and so on later in life.

I could elaborate as to some things that I may have got into to trouble for while I was young, but those are the things we all grow out of? When I was a kid we would be outside just about every day of the year, we didn't have computers and other stuff like that. Now days you never see kids hanging around outside and if they are they're probably up to no good. The crap kids get into is far worse now than when I grew up. Ok, I'm done now also......

I understand what you're saying. But this is not like stealing a pack of gum from 7-11. This is about crooked repair shops paying little kids to go steal stuff. Not just some valve caps either. Wheels, parts, etc...

Space, tell your Senior friends i said "Thanks". I just want my Mom to live what ever years she has left being happy.

I have learned one very important fact in life. When God sez its time to go, the only thing your going to take with you is your memories and a hand full of dirt.
JJ glad to hear your mom is settling in. Tell her I said Hi. My mom went over to my aunt's today and got my grandpa and brought him over to see what we are doing. My grandpa is having a hard time adjusting to need help for everything now when 2 months ago he was independent. He wants to be home, but can not afford live in care and we don't want him to have to move into a nursing home. My aunt and uncle work from their house and have asked him to stay so we will see. It is so hard to see your loved ones struggle.

Lou, unfortunately we see this more and more in the schools. When I was teaching grade school there were a dozen kids 10 or younger with parole officers. So sad.

I'm afraid someone is going to swipe the Stem Caps off my car. But I have an extra set just in case. I also remove these and put old ones on if I have to send my car into the shop for something.
