wow, they are getting kicked out? im in a remedial math class out here, and it is geared totally towards the state tests, but its about as low on the totem pole as you can be without an IEP. where are they gonna stick the bad kids? or are they just swapping classes around?
oh, i also wanted to ask, do they use study island out in your district, todd?

space, how do you always seem to pop in without me noticing? lol. happy holidays right back at you, the bums & seniors down in florida

Hi everyone - not too much going on here. Just got done wrapping Christmas presents and later I'm going to go get Silver washed and maybe shoot some new pics of him. Tonight we are going over to my Dad's house for Chanukah dinner.

Hey Ryan we don't use study island. They are being moved into other classes. They refuse to do any work of any kind. They show up sit down and then will not do a thing. We have lots of kids who need extra help so we will move them in to another class. Sad that they are not taking advantage. The ones doing the work are making great strides. Hopefully a few of them will see the benefit and turn their attitude around by the end of the semester. They can always earn their way back in.

The hard thing as I am sure you know, is that when you are struggling in an area the last thing you want to do is spend more time doing it.

damn skippy, lol. but i gotta look at it this way: even though i dont wanna do the extra work on something that i can barely grasp (math in my case), i would rather practice in a remidial class for 45 minutes a day than not graduate, and have sit in school another year doing pretty much nothing but math, while everyone else i know moves on with their lives. in the long run it seems the remedial class is worth its weight in gold if it helps one graduate. its just too bad that those kids refuse to let it help them.

thanks todd. i try to keep a good attitude, even while im sitting through that torturious study island crap. i have to compleat the math section to be able to graduate, 'caus i failed the state test for math.... and believe me, i would rather take the state test over and over till i passed it rather than do study island, lol.

whelp, looks like im off to the christmas party. later everyone!
