Good Morning,

Busy morning at work! Made the last hour fly by...
The owner is coming in this morning for sure, should be here around 9 or 10. Should be a good visit.

The Monte: Well, looks like I will be driving the company Hyundai Accent for the next WEEK or so. My car is sitting at the dealer because it needs a new instrument cluster to fix the burn out bulb in the speedo. (if you ask me, its really stupid that the whole cluster needs to be replaced just for a bad bulb). But anyway, it needs a new cluster, but before GMPP will approve the claim, they want to inspect the car (my service advisor said they almost never do this, but its probably raising a red flag to them that you are having warranty work done at 99,769 miles, and warranty expires at 100,092.) So the car has to sit for the next 2-3 days waiting on an inspector to come out. Then once the claim is approved, they have to ship my current cluster out (as a core) and then wait for the new one to come in. So He told me I'm probably looking at getting it back sometime next wednesday. Kinda sucks, but i'm ok with it. At least I have a car in the mean time, and at least it is covered under warranty, and at least it happend before the warranty expired. So i'm happy all in all, just missing my car.

Tonight should be fun, my GF's B-day is next Friday, and her Mom is throwing a surprise 21st B-day party for her tonight. I am in charge of keeping her out of the house from 5pm till 8:30pm, and then bringing her to the house at 8:30. So I'm going to have her come to my work so we can meet at my work and go out to dinner... should work well!

Lastly, TGIF!!!

Have a good Friday/ weekend everyone!

Cool. Happy B-day to your GF.

21! Time to party! Just be sure to have someone sober driving home.

I think that stinks what GMPP is doing to you. They are obviously punishing you for making a claim. Typical insurance company crap.

The bulbs are soldered into the dash panel on my car where the radio is... they might be the same way on teh instrument cluster and thus it's easier to just replace the cluster than it is to try to solder a new bulb into it. We had someone over on the Jeff Gordon Monte Carlo forums have to get their A/C read out things replaced due to burned out bulbs.

Yea, GMPP has never done this to me so far, usually the dealer just calls the claim in, and boom, its approved and fixed. Like I said, my service advisor is pretty sure its because i'm so close to the warranty expiring, that they just want to make sure its not a false claim. As long as it gets fixed, i'll be happy, if they try to deny the claim, that is when i'll be blowing my top on someone. But my service advisor is pretty certain it will all be fine, and approved. He told me that GMPP almost always approves claims, unless it is just obviously not the cars fault for the problem. So i'm not to worried, and the dealer is being really good about calling and keeping me informed.

Oh and BTW, my sister is only 19, so she can't drink, and she will be at the party...so she will be driving me home. LOL (it might be a jerky ride, because the company car is a stick shift, and she only knows VERY basic stick shift driving skills. LOL but I think she can do it, its an easy stick shift to drive)

Nope, didn't think about doing that until last night, but by then it was to late...I HOPE that is not a problem, especially considering that the problem is with a burnt bulb in the cluster, which has NOTHING to do with my CAI...So everyone cross your fingers GMPP does not make a stink about it. I did mention it to my service advisor this morning on the phone, and he said he made no gaurentees, but he honestly did not THINK it was an issue. He said the Vette guys have mods all the time, and GMPP only denies claims if the Mod is clearly the reason for the problem. He told me he has seen trannies go on trucks that were lifted with WAY oversized tires, and sometimes GMPP still honors the claim. So my fingers are crossed at this point.

Save up plenty of money to replace the burnt out clutch. I'm predicting someone's gonna hurl during that drive home. (just kidding with ya)
