Actually that has changed quite a bit from the last time I checked it in 2002. According to Trade.gov and Export.gov we still keep more raw metal than we import, but we are now importing more from Canada, Mexico, Japan, China, Germany, UK, France among others. Russia is now WAY down on the list and barely ships any raw metal here.

you know, i honestly think over in tiwan and china they have towns called Canada, and USA so that they can say made in Canada or USA

I think they do as well. I know there is an Asian USA but they cannot put the US flag on their Made in USA tag.

These on the websites are from specific countries though.

Probably.

There's a place here in southeastern OH called AK Steel. This place has had so many work related injuries and deaths not to mention being fined byOSHA time after time. They used tobe in News constantly.

I know at the time my dad was running a steel company in Dayton rumor was it do not buy from AK cause their steel was no good.

The tool & die shop I worked at, I can't remember where their steel used to come from but they had a lot of problems with delamination of the steel (looked like the steel was peeling in spots) we would send back huge rolls that were more or less no good.

Yuck. Keep an out out for AK Steel in the future.
