idk, i just think the whole racing a stock monte is silly.. the transmissions are weak, the 3100 isn't the strongest (none of the engines in these cars in stock form are) and put gas and track fees into consideration.. you're about 1/10 the way into paying repairs on the first trip..

Also, if it's gonna get worse while racing (during a race) there is not much you can do about it! **** happens, that's the chance you take and so does the track site.....You can't predict what happens. If you're gonna dump coolant/oil or anything is a crap shoot. Do you think Nascar doesn't have that problem and or any other racing organization. I say "go for it" if it's something you want to do. Me personally, I would only do it if I had another car to get back and forth to my job.......

Curiosity would be my only reason... I wish I had brought my 3100 to the track.

I always had better luck between 1500-2000 with a 3.8 on launch. do some research on track etiquette and talk to someone who has runthat track. they will know howbtightly they control stuff, if they will stagecyou beside a rail dragster or a 4 wheeler, and qny quirks of tye trqck. like my local track has all tyese dips in the right lane. information is your friend

be careful, insurance doesn't cover accidents at the track.

I dont understand why you feel the need to hammer your way onto highways, cruise at 85 and just generally beat on the car? If its your first and only one i'd think you'd want to take care of it, especially at 168k miles. You honestly never know what could go wrong at that point. Take care of your car and it'll take care of you. You wanna race it, go for it, dont expect amazing numbers.
