Doesnt matter the size of the drip...Any amount is to much...Its far to dangerous especially for those as mentioned before that run slick tires...

This not only for your safety,, But the saftey of others as well...This is going to be the concern of the Track Officials.

Sit in the car and have someone tell youwhen to go with the negine off. Practice getting into the throttle quickly, but not just stomping it to the floor. Tracks have a material they lay down that makes drag tires hook up, but cna make street tires lose traction . Getting into the throttle smoothly, yet quickly, is the trick for me. That can make a couple of tenths difference.

One of my personal tricks is t owatch those stage lights. There is about a 2'long area where you can stage... figure out where it is in the first couple of runs, then just creep up on it when you know where it's at, and as soon as you see both stage lights come on, SLAM ON THE BRAKES AND LOCK THAT SUCKER UP!!! This can take as much as .05-.1 off your time.... swear it.

Also, there are some customs you need to know. First, when you're staging next to a car you know is faster than you, it is polite to let that car stage first so you don't rush them. They have to do burnouts and the such.

Also, when you reach teh ned of the track, you will exit to either right or left. It is customer and polite to allow the car on the exit side to exit first. For example, the exit may be on the left and you ran in the right lane. Even if you beat the ltitel beat **** Escort by 4 seconds, it is customary to wait for the Escort to turn off the track, then follow it. Even you are in the exit side and the car ahead of you ebats you, be careful, he may still not let you exit first.

Do your best to focus on the end of the track after the launch. If you're watching the other car, you will naturally follow towards that side. Staging straight and driving straight takes time off your run too.If a car is beside you, use your peripheral to watch tehm. I did in fact have a cars wheel come off and the car came into my lane one night....

Above all, don't take losing too badly, don't take winning with too much pride... enjoy the moment. remember, people will talk trash about you no matter waht you drive, so just come to accept this as part of the game..... think about how you talk about race car drivers on TV... that's how they're about to talk about you....

AS far as oil leaks go... those high octane, high compression, high powered engines with high velocity/high pressure oil pumps will create a bigger mess of oil than your car is... oil loss is just part of it. Hang around the drag strip and you will see them routinely spray the track down with that chemical, and that's part of the reason. To some extent, an oil leak is normal.

When I run my Torino on these NASCAR oval race tracks and get to park in victory lane, you might actually be shocked how big some of the oil stains on the ground are.... 6-8" puddles where the victors car was parked. If it's as small as you claim, I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't worry about it if it only drips every how many hours. My ****ing exhaust fell of at KCIR and they let me keep running. Tracks aren't that ****, and a potential drop of oil is nothing compared to the people who blow their engine/tranny at the line. Just remember to be respectful of everyone around you.

Please don't try to heat up your tires. You have street ones, if anything they will have you turn them over once or twice in the water box. If you somehow manage to get them spinning enough to heat them you will actually lose traction.

Don't paly in the water box with street tires... the grooves will sling water down the track tha tslicks won't. Think about when you drive through puddles after a rain storm. It pissess off the guys with the really fast cars.

as far as i know not synthetic i change it 4 times a year roughly 30 bucks a change my mechanic suggested to leave it be for the time being. i mean the engine holds 5 quarts and the low oil light comes on at 3 quarts. he recently switched from kendall oil to gulf oil (so says the mileage sticker) and it seems to be leaking less.
