I drive the current gen of Town Car when I'm working, and believe me, it is no big deal. The exterior hasn't been changed at all for several years, with only minor changes made in the interior. In the 2011 Town Car, Lincoln decided to replace the headrests from the previous year with ridiculously oversized headrests that keep hitting you in the back of your head unless you raise them up as far as possible. My customers sometimes ask me to remove the headrest on the passenger's side so they can see out the front window, but you can't even do that on the 2011 model; the headrests don't come out.
The main thing that the Town Car has going for it is lots of space in the cabin (especially with the long wheelbase version) and a huge trunk that can take lots of luggage. It's a heavy car with ponderous handling, poor ergonomics and little technological innovation. Best suited for well-to-do retirees down in FL (sorry, Space). Very overpriced for what it gives you, IMO.
When I'm driving the Town Car at night, looking at the green illumination on the dash (something I don't think Ford/Lincoln has ever changed) and looking down that long hood with the hood ornament on the end, I can almost imagine myself driving my Dad's '76 Ford LTD wagon. There's really not much difference between them after dark, lol.
After being in a Town Car for several hours, I'm happy to get back behind the wheel of my Monte.

I was going to buy an '06 LS V8 rather than the Monte. It was around $10,000 cheaper but smelled like cat pee. With excellent performance, the Monte (sans pee smell) won out!
