Hope to tile the floor next spring (need to save up my allowance as it will be $1,500 bucks)

That looks great! I like the way the chests are recessed so they are flush with the wall. Have you considered that floor coating stuff as opposed to tile? I wonder if it would be less expensive yet durable? Either way it looks like the Deuce has a great new home!

Yes I have and read reviews on these coatings. In almost every case users have complaind of "Tire pull off" where the tires pull off the coating if it becomes wet or the car sets for any length of time.

Have my heart set on a checkerd board pattern (dark and light grey or black and white)

Ahhh...Then tile would definitely be the way to go. My vote would be for the classic black/white checkered flag pattern.
