I failed my first time for turning right out of the parking lot into the middle lane. No cars were coming to my left, but I guess this is still technically against the rules. But still, is that a failing offense? I thought it should have just been some points deducted. Guy was a jerk. Whipped a mean U-turn after he told me I failed. I was pissed. Anyway, I passed the next day at a different DMV. And the instructor there said I was the best all week
My cousin was the same way (2 years ago). The BMV shared a lot w/ a couple of stores, so you have to go through a parking lot than out to the street, well he swung wide in the lot...too wide (he said he went into oncoming...but technically there was a center line) and the instructor told him he failed, turn around. It was winter mind you so he did a half donut, u-turn. That was the wrong instructor to tick off, since the people that ride around w/ you for the test are state troopers...he gave him a ticket for that maneuver which then also prevented him from getting his license until he was 17.

Congrats Maw!

I took my driver's test in one of the driving school's '85 Dodge K-car's.

The instructor told me that the people doing the driving test used to try and trick people by telling them to turn the wrong way on a one way street. But they no longer try to trick anyone into doing anything illegal, due to safety reasons. Plus I'm sure there would be some liability issues too.

The hardest part of the test for me was parallel parking. I was really stressed out about that part. During the test, I noticed my test was going awefully longer than I was told it would be. Turns out the tester was looking for a couple cars parked tight enough to give me a problem parallel parking. But she couldn't find any.

Glad you got your licence on the first try. Way to go!

Congrat's...I know you may not be able to drive your Monte yet, but you can get it perfectly detailed & get everything right 4 your inspection...Then just sit back & admire it & know that it's all yours "Good things are worth waiting for 4-Sure..." Wish you safe/fun trouble`free miles in your AWESOME Monte Carlo ~> Good Luck from `Space
