My heart broke to here he passed away yesterday. I will miss him sorely.

One of the best characters in the Star Trek franchise. I'm honestly surprised at how well the original characters are holding up. Leonard Nimoy is only the 3rd person of the original cast to pass away.
Leonard Nimoy comes from a time when entertainment didn't include things like Honey Boo Boo, various auction/pawn shop shows, and watching spoiled rich people complain about how hard their life is. When entertainment was actually entertaining.
Leonard directed some of the best Star Trek movies, along with acting in or directing many classic tv shows and movies (non-Star Trek). You didn't hear about him getting into trouble or scandals. He lead a fairly decent life, without being the subject of tabloids every other week. Obviously he's not perfect. Nobody is. But he will be missed.
One of his less than stellar performances...

Had an opportunity to do a meet and greet with him at a comic con a few years back and decided it was just too much money, but now looking back I wish I would have spent the money. He is a legend in my eyes, as I am a big Star Trek fan and continue to watch the tv show and movies to this day with a wonder in my eyes

I only watched the classic Star Trek movies (never watched the actual series). But Leonard Nimoy has had a hand in a lot of things I've enjoyed over the years. And in some cases, he was direct and visible and in other he may have been behind the scenes on other things.
Some stuff, obviously, Star Trek (he's been seen in Next Generation, I believe other spin offs as well and obviously the movies). He was the voice of Galvatron from the 1986 animated Transformers movie (which I still feel is awesome). He voiced one of the Prime's in a more recent live action Transformer movie. He was also the character William Bell in the series Fringe (not a frequently seen character, but a very important character and one that was discussed through much of the series).
His influence in the world of Sci-Fi was great, he will be missed by many. Yesterday was indeed a sad day for many.

I was all about Leonard Nemoy after I heard the news yesterday. I don't have any Star Trek in the collection, but last night I watched both of the Transformers movies Jason mentioned to celebrate his life! But his Star Trek character is certainly truly iconic and his documentary voice is so impressionable that it might even be the voice of my own conscience - it's in my head! I was much more impacted by his passing than I thought I'd be
