Left Lane Loiterers

Left Lane Loiterers
has anybody else noticed the increase of motorists that drive in the left lane without need? they either match the speed of traffic in the right lane, or drive in the left lane without another car even near them? this is one of the few things that really grinds my gears. it seems like something that's just started happening within the past couple years. around the same time cell phones became more readily available to people (I always blame cell phones). here in PA we have something called the Left Lane Alone Law wheras if you're caught doing this you can be issued a citation, but our cops never enforce it. sometimes if these nuisances of a motorist are the only car in the left lane and nobody else is around I'll get in the right lane and match speeds with them and run them past their intended exit(s) but if I just want to get by in heavier traffic I give a courtesy flash of the high beams and hope they catch my drift. more often than not I get a middle finger. this past Fri. I had my revenge. I was on my way to work the night shift when I came up behind this Left Lane Aloner doing 60 in a 60, matching the speed of right lane traffic, gumming up the works. I couldn't go right due to traffic and I could see the left lane ahead of this joker was clear. I just wanted to get by! I give the courtesy flash. no response. I flash once more. the driver acknowledges me with a middle finger (I didn't see that coming), and the passenger salutes me with...an open container! boo-yah! "I got your @$$ now" I says to myself. I called 9-1-1 to report a DUI driver and stayed with this scufflaw in the left lane until a cruiser was able to catch up and pull this chode over. I beeped as I went by. on my way back from work the next morning, the car was still parked roadside in the other lane, right where the cop snagged him. I'm guessing the driver had an open container or was enibriated too. what a great feeling. so Left Laners beware. get in the correct lane, or end up in a correctional institute for the night.

..Vincenti, you are not alone in your feelings about left lane drivers. Learning to drive in Florida with all the senior elderly on the road becomes a test of patience & tolerance. They believe it's their lane lol. Also, they wait @ a entrance to a highway until you are approaching and pull right out in front of you & do half the speed limit I think some really have a Death Wish, or they have

That ALWAYS annoys me too. Usually I'll give the flash followed by the light honk. If all else fails when I go around them on the right I give a little rev, followed by a nice finger
One time I was driving with someone, and I mentioned it to them and they said they liked the left lane because "it wasn't as bumpy"

I hate it when people do that. I usually drive on the right lane and only use the left to pass. But it really sux when there are 2 cars in front of you ( on in each lane) and they are matched for speed.

I'm not saying you don't have a valid point.
But when people come flying up my azz in the right hand, slower lane and try to push me out of it I have little sympathy for these drivers while I'm in the left hand lane.
If the posted speed limit is 65 mph and I'm doing 70 you come flying up my azz trying to push me over you can just drive around me when the right lane is clear. WHY? The road is just as much as mine to use as it is your's.
If you want to do something against the law like speed, then stop paying taxes. Become a real desperado.
I'll get off my soap box now.
