Late model knowledge test - 2016
I always wanted to re-do one of these threads. I played this game twice before back in '09 and the members seemed to like it. The members have pretty much all changed.
The original thread games can still be attempted here (2009 models) and here (1998 models)
I originally invented the game because in 2009, I was thinking that aside from front and rear clips on cars, all new cars were looking a lot alike. Well, I think the manufacturers were listening to me because I think the challenge is easier in 2016 - cars are a little more distinctive through the body than they were 7 years ago.
Do your best to guess the models of the following cars with their wheels, badges and front and rear clips censored. Post your answers and I'll provide the answer key latter in the week.

No trickery, nothing sneaky like that. There are European cars in there, but they are built for the North American market. Everyone of those cars could be purchased at a dealership within 5 miles of my house

Very good first guess Keane! You got 8 right, 5 wrong. But you were closer than that as you only missed the manufacturer once! 4 of your incorrect guesses were still correct by manufacturer, just the wrong model. Not surprising, since most manufacturers are a little unoriginal and more or less offer only one design in assorted vehicle sizes.
I don't want to say which ones you got correct just yet. Not until others have a chance to play. But thanks very much for playing!

Well, thanks for playin' and having the courage to post your answers Keane! You win the challenge!
There doesn't seem to be so much interest in my little game this time. I hope other members took the time to play at home and were just too shy to post their answers.
Have another look again - do you know the model when they are completely revealed?
Answers:
A. Cadillac ATS
B. Toyota Camry
C. Hyundai Sonata
D. Honda Accord
E. BMW 5-Series
F. Mazda 6
G. Ford Fusion
H. Nissan Maxima
I. Chevrolet Malibu
J. Mercedes S-Class
K. Dodge Charger
L. Kia Optima
M. Buick Regal
Keane - I thought it was amusing that you would miss, of all cars, the Ford Fusion. It's probably the most common in these parts. I wouldn't miss that one myself, but that's probably because that pic may as well be a picture of my own car - I have a 2013 just like that one.
Hopefully members will continue to try my little game at home and enjoy it more having the immediate redemption of an answer key. Take the challenge and post your score!

Aw, foo! I thought I might have another day to try.
Oh, well. I imagine Google image search would be a great help in solving these mysteries...
Anyway, the Charger was the easiest one to guess. The Maxima was also fairly easy, since Nissan is now so flat-out weird with their automotive styling (weirder than Subaru ever was). What's up with them?
