Default Lakeland Visit/Meet MouseMoparman!

So I've come down to Florida to visit my grandfather on my college fall break with my parents. I saw 03limitedSS, the September Monte of hte Month, drive by me at Five Guys on Wednesday night and haven't been able to meet up with him. However, I did meet up with Gregg (Mousehousemoparman) and his family this Friday morning for breakfast at the Golden Corral in Lakeland.

Neither of us had the Montes... just minivans!!!

I'm in Titusville, FL for tonight. Going to go see Cape Canaveral in the morning, maybe hit up Daytona and see Trevor Baynes winning car, and head on up the coast!

My grandfather is in the nursing home over a fall. This morning he was taken back ot the hospital for bleeding. They had his blood 4 times thinner than it should be. I saw it dropping into the little catch bottle at a rate of a drop every 2-3 seconds when we got to the ICU. Once they get his blood right, he should be out of hte hospital in a few days. He'll be 89 on October 27th!

It was a good time for me as well. That is my daughter Alexis that snuck into the picture. She was being shy and didn't want her picture taken. She will be three in January. She has already learned it is a woman's prerogative to change her mind. I'm in trouble for sure.

HEAVY RAINS on the Space Coast today. Most of Cape Canaveral is outdoors, and I figure I can drown for free instead of pay them $48 to drown with them looking at space stuff. I went to the astronaut hall of fame and down to Ron Jons in Cocoa Beach instead. Riding all over KidSpaces homeland looking for him.. didn't find him Then I stopped at Daytona. Tonight we're in Brunswick, GA and heading home in the AM

THAT THING KICKED MY @$$!!!!! It is a g-force simulator that simulates 4 g's with a screen in front of you. Two little 3-4 year old girls boucned out of hte thing right before me, ran to mom, and talked about how awesome it was!!!! Yeah, I was okay until it stopped... I was having motion sickness for 3 hours!!!!!!

Too late for a tour, but I've been on it twice... just went to the gift shop!

You get the chance to meet up with KidSpace? That would be pretty cool too.

Duane it looks like you are having a good time. I've been to Daytona many times and seen the Daytona 500 twice. I have yet to see Cape Canaveral and I am only an hour away. I have to do that.

It's kind of funny how we sometimes forget about the stuff that is close to us. They have a new Daytona tour that I was too late to catch where you get to see the press box, the drivers meeting room, go through the garage area, and things like that on top of the track tour. The Porsche Lemans team was testing in the rain out there, so you couldn't go physically on the track anywho.
