Just saw the Avengers!
WOW guys, just freakin' WOW! The movie was AWESOME! Laughs, action, and PLENTY to talk about.
For those who don't know, I used to work in DownTown Cleveland, parts of the movie was filmed on a street I'm only partly familiar with BUT a large seen was filmed in front of Tower City (a building I walked into for work, to go to the Higbee building EVERY DAY for 6 months). It was AWESOME to see how this all looked on the BIG screen!
What's funny, I did not know they were going to do filming in Public Square (in front of Tower City) so in the beginning phases of "dressing" it up, since it was just construction, I thought they were finally FIXING things with that location (the brick walk way is missing bricks and it's wavy from years of the bricks settling).
I have a couple of pics from what they were doing then (I'm only sharing two, but if you saw the movie, you may recognize the sites).
For those who remember the beginning of "A Christmas Story", this pics is of the same building, same store front featured in the beginning of that movie. I worked doing PC support on 3 of the floors in that building (no longer ownder buy Higbees/Dillard, though the Higbee name is still on it, my former employer now leases 3 of the floors there):
And here is a shot of the front of Tower City (some know it as Terminal Tower, the second tallest building in DownTown). You can see they were removing the letters from the building.

The magic of television is cool. I like how they dress stuff up and make it better looking than it is. We went to a wrestling event at a 10000 seat arena and I couldnt figure out why they had all the walls separating the tiers covered with black fabric until i seen it on tv. The entire arena looked like one big seating area and looked way bigger than it was.

I went opening night also, but after reviews, we ended watching in 2D. Traffic was hectic, and parking was disaster. This was the first time that I can recall when both parking garages were FULL! We ended parking in a shopping center.
Movie was awesome, Hulk was by far my favorite character.
Read yahoo article not too long ago, it gross 200 million in 3 days, domestic. :O
