Internet Protest

This bill just pisses me off. Just another excuse to spend millions of dollars to make sure a movie company makes $200 million instead of the $198 million they would make without pirating.

The Internet piracy problem isn't going to be fix by censorship of the medium or by taking each and every person caught to court. The Internet was made as a tool for collaboration between parties and to advance human interaction/ the sharing of ideas and content, free of charge(at least originally)! But we know capitalism and someone had to get rich off of the idea.

Exactly, its something we pay for so we should be able to view whatever we want. Most of the country is against the bill, yet they insist it must be passed. If it does we're just going to loose tons of websites that are part of the internet and americas "freedom" will be no more, atleast on the internet. Anyone seen wikipedia today?

Look at it now, we're not done yet

I've been saying for a long time that the way to knock piracy down a peg is to make more digital content more accessible for a competitive price. I think services like Netflix, iTunes, and Steam have already taken a sizable bite out of the piracy pie.

I think communism is dead. In a world where everything is connected and countries aren't isolated as they were 20-30 years ago, the next step in human evolution is social type government, where EVERYBODY has a chance to get ahead and be useful to society. Germany is a prime example with the oldest universal health care system in the world, since 1883, and through their education system over 99% of 15 y/o and above are able to read and write and their schooling is also provided by the government. (Courtesy of Wikipedia). Imagine a place where you don't have to worry about health insurance or worrying about paying out of pocket for an education, and be able to contribute to society while making money in the field of your choice.
