Internet ??

RE: Internet ??
we had it in Ge.
the speed was ultra fast for the sat.
but the reliability made it a PITA
always out if the wind blew to hard, if it rained to hard, if the sun hit the reciver in the right angel on the right hour of the right day you lost everythign for hours on end.
If it was the oly choice i might think of one of the air cards from my cell phone provider first.
but DSL is proven, reliabel and also faster then dial up

I would go with cable, we have optimum online from cablevision, and it is FAST, you can also pay like 10 bucks extra and get twice the speed if you use a network with more than one computer it is worth it. We have upwards of 7 devices on our network, and never have any slowdowns.

Cable is the fastest way to go. DSL is very close to it. Satallite sucks - has a dial up uplload and only 400-500K download. There is also a full Satallite upload/download but it is $300 per month.

Agreed about DSL being faster and more reliable. Looked into sat before they ran DSL to my neck of the woods, it just didn't seem worth it to me. No cable out here in the sticks , so DSL is the best I can do. I wouldn't wish dial up on anyone, I really feel for those that have to suffer with it. Love my DirecTV, though.

RE: Internet ??
Space has been using 56k dial up all along.
We all know how long some of Space's post can be.
And he's got almost 7900 posts.
My hat goes off to him. I wouldn't be able to do all that with 56k dial up.
Hell, I can't even keep up with him using cable. LOL.
For me it's cable all the way. But lately my modem has been acting up. Time to get it replaced.
